Hukeng village is home to the Hakka Tulou building and boasts many intangible cultural relics such as some ancient villages and ancient buildings. The village was also recognized as a national historical village by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and the national Antiques Bureau in 2014.

 

The Hongkeng Tulou Building cluster is located at the Hukeng village in Fujian province. There are 1556 Tulou buildings in the village. Hungkeng Tulou Building cluster, Yanxiang Building and Zhenfu Building are listed as world cultural heritage sites.

 

Yanxiang Building, a world historical cultural heritage site, was built in 1842 and covers an area of 4300 square meters. The building's name carries an auspicious meaning in Chinese. [Photo by Wang Fuping]
